Abstract
Pojava sestrinstva u operacijskoj dvorani vezana je uz uvođenje aseptičnih tehnika rada. Medicinska sestra instrumentarka je član operacijskog tima koji, osim nje, uključuje kirurga operatera, njegovog asistenta, anesteziologa i anesteziološkog tehničara. Svi se oni pridržavaju aseptične tehnike rada i njenih načela, što omogućava uspješno izvođenje visoko složenih operativnih zahvata i njihov dobar ishod. Odgovornosti operacijske medicinske sestre obuhvaćaju sustavno vođenje sestrinske dokumentacije, pripremu operacijskog tima za rad, pripremu operacijske dvorane, instrumenata i pribora, njega pacijenta i briga za njegovu sigurnost u svim fazama operativnog zahvata – preoperativna, intraoperativna i postoperativna.
