Abstract
Rak debelog crijeva jedan je od najčešćih zloćudnih rakova u svijetu i jedan je od vodećih javnozdravstvenih problema. Obično nastaje kod starije populacije. Posebni značaj ima Nacionalni program za rano otkrivanje raka debelog crijeva kod kojeg se ranijim probirom može saznati dijagnoza. Nakon postavljene dijagnoze obavezno je obaviti ostale nalaze s ciljem utvrđivanja proširenosti bolesti i pronalaska optimalnog oblika liječenja. Neki od čimbenika rizika za rak debelog crijeva uključuju obiteljsku povijest raka debelog crijeva ili rektalnog karcinoma, prehranu, unos alkohola, pušenje i upalne bolesti crijeva.
