Abstract	Gastrostoma je kirurško spajanje želuca s prednjom trbušnom stijenkom. Svrha gastrostome je unošenje hrane kroz stomu u želudac. Perkutana endoskopska gastrostoma - PEG je postupak postavljanja silikonske cijevi kroz trbušnu stijenku u lumen želuca pod kontrolom gastroskopa. Svrha postavljanja PEG-a je direktno davanje hrane, tekućine i lijekova u želudac. Enteralnu prehranu definiramo kao metodu koja omogućuje unos nutritivno i farmakološki definiranih enteralnih pripravaka peroralnim putem ili primjenom sondi u želudac ili tanko crijevo. Zdravstvena njega bolesnika s PEG stomom zahtijeva od medicisnke sestre određena znanja i vještine. Medicisnka sestra zadužena je za niz postupaka prije, tijekom i nakon postavljanja stome.
